Statistics Show Chris Jones Is Returning To His Elite Forms

During training camp, the Kansas City Chiefs appeared to be in some trouble when star defensive lineman Chris Jones held out in the hopes of getting a lucrative contract extension.
He missed their Week 1 loss to the Detroit Lions, and shortly afterward, he agreed to a one-year contract so that he could at least suit up and help them defend their second Super Bowl championship in the last four seasons.
In Jones’ season debut, which was a 17-9 win over the upstart Jacksonville Jaguars, he had 1.5 sacks and two quarterback hits, and a look at his league ranks in some advanced categories, per Pro Football Focus, show how well he did in Week 2.

Jones is arguably the centerpiece of Kansas City’s defense, and although they ranked only 16th in points allowed and 11th in total yards allowed last year, Jones had a marvelous season.
He recorded 15.5 sacks, 29 quarterback hits, and 17 tackles for loss, earning him a spot in both the Pro Bowl and on the All-Pro First Team. nike sb dunk low sandy stores
With Jones back in uniform in Week 2, the Chiefs were dominant defensively against a potent Jaguars team, holding quarterback Trevor Lawrence to a low completion rate and zero touchdown passes while sacking him four times.
As a team, Jacksonville was not able to record a single touchdown in that contest.  nike sb dunk release
Indeed, Kansas City’s question marks now revolve around their offense, as they need a wide receiver to step up and become a consistent threat after they lost JuJu Smith-Schuster in free agency during the offseason.
